porcelain tile questions

Hello,
I have decided to install porcelain tile in my bathroom.

I wish to take a little extra time in the design pattern of the tiles themselves, to try to make something eye catching

I have bought the 12" x 12" tiles for the floor, but I was not able to locate the 6" x 6" equivalent tile for the walls.

THE QUESTION IS

Is it possible to cut those tiles with a wet tile saw to make 4 6x6 tiles from one 12x12", and use them on the wall?

The porcelain tile I am using has a pre-finished surface on it.

And, it is possible to file down the edges of newly cut 6x6's to make the beveled edge?

any thoughts or alternatives to this solution??

I would recommend against cutting the tiles down to size. I don't think you'd be able to recreate the factory edge over that many cuts.
What about a similar tile in the size you want, perhaps in a complimentary color?

Angus has a good point. All the porcelain that I've worked with I can cut with a diamond blade but not file. It is tougher than hardened steel and will burn out carbide bits, so if you need to drill for any fixtures get a bit rated for glass. You may be able to cut a bevel with a diamond saw or wet saw but you'll probably grow new teeth faster than filing a bevel to match the factory detailing.

The bevel can be made quickly with a cone diamond shaping stone from a stone retailer. But as mentioned...never will look like it should. Color at the edges (glazing) is missing.
