Question

Pergo over vinyl

Looking to put down new Pergo floors in our kitchen and hallway. Currently it has the original (2002) vinyl flooring. Other then sunbleached it's in good shape. Can I lay the Pergo down over the current vinyl? My thinking is the vinyl would already be and act as an additional layer of cushioning, sound dreading, and insulation, in addition to the under layment attached. Bad idea?

Pergo over vinyl

Not sure what this means. "My thinking is it would already be and u deflate to in addition".
Yes you can lay it right over the old vinyl.
Still going to need the padding or flooring with it built in if the directions say to.
