Patching after sand topping?

I used sand topping to fill around new drain pipes in basement slab. I didn't bring it up high enough mainly because I thought I'd use Henry's floor patch for the fine finishing.
The question is can I use Henry's patching right over the sand topping?;should I wait for sand topping to cure?; would a "primer" be needed?;

Wait for the topping to cure. Henry's will bond to it. I don't think you'll need to prime, but checks Henrys' website to be sure.
