Question

Particle board underlayment help


Help
We are doing a whole house remodel, and the whole house has 1" particle board on top of 1/4" plywood...... The only thing we can put on top of this is carpet and vinyl we want wood and or tile.... Can we put 1/4" plywood over the particle board pulling up the particle board is not what we want to do

Particle board underlayment help


Forget tile.
But you can do a floating wood.

Tile is possible, but requires more work.

Particle board underlayment help


The particle board and 1/4 layer has to come up if you want tile, nothing can go over it for tile, what's under that subfloor.?)

You sure you don't have OSB?, if particle board, NO, if you plan on tiling, it can't be anywhere in the mix, EVER.:D
