Painting or epoxying garage floor?
I'd like to have my floor professionally coated, but I'm having a hard time justifying the $2,000 cost. Has anyone successfully used one of the do-it-yourself epoxy floor coating kits?
If so, which kit do you recommend? Also, what tips and/or advice can you give me based on your experiences? Thanks for your help.
I bought the epoxy kit from home depot for about $200 and did my 2 car garage in a couple of days. It was as easy as painting the wall in your house. My floors were painted before so I had to scrape off the old paint before putting the epoxy down. If your floors are clean it should only take 1 or 2 days. The painting itself only took about 30 min from what I recall. The kit I bought came with a acid type wash to clean the floor prior to painting it. I would wash the floor one day and paint the next. I bought one of those big squeegee's to help get the water off of the floor when you wash it. Let me know if you have any other questions!
