"Paint" the stained carpet

Have some spots on the carpet with colors - maybe ink. Can not be removed by any carpet spot cleaner. Thinking of "paint" the spot with similar color so that it's less visible. Anybody has better idea?

I did almost exactly that at a rental house where I lived years ago. It had a tobacco brown carpeting with some spots where a previous tenant had spilled bleach or something. I used acrylic craft paints and a small brush to touch up the spots. It worked very well -- although I had to redo it every 6 months or so.

Is this "acrylic craft paint" used to paint wood? Where I can purchase it?

Any craft store will have it -- it comes in small plastic bottles and a million different colors. Costs about $1.50 - $2 a bottle. Good stuff, I use it for a lot of different things around the house.
