outside tiles

What is the best tile to use outside. i have a closedin/covered porch with a concrete pad. i want to put tile out there. what is recomended.? terra cotta, slate? any ideas? thanks

It depends on where you are. If you live in an area where freeze/ thaw issues are a consideration, then hands down, porcelain is your best bet. It had virtually no absorbsion to it, and therefore won't pop due to frost. The good news is that porcelain comes in an unbelieveable variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and TEXTURES.
