what type of grout

Porcelain and quarry are fine. Best selections in porcelain. But, there's more to it than simply which tile or grout. You first have to have a slopped surface and an adequate framing structure. Enough plywood subfloor and a CBU made for outdoors and probably a membrane over that too.

You can start by telling us where this porch is located and answering the questions above.

the porch is pitched plenty and is allready water tight i was going to put down durarock then tile I just dont want anything to crack

OK, I don't know what "pitched plenty" equals. You now say it's water tight, yet before you said it's a porch and is subject to all temps and will get wet. That doesn't jive.

Installing Durock isn't going to make it waterproof. You'll need to protect the plywood and the framing from moisture. Speaking of framing, can you describe how it's built and the type and thickness of the subfloor you're planning to install? How high off the ground is it? Is it well ventilated etc.

the structure is very strong i fixed all the beams and put down 3/4" plywood the put down tar paper the pitch is about 1/4" per foot sameas it has been for 80 years it is water tight so no water will hit plywood

can't imagine anyone,,,

installing tile outdoors UNLESS there's no absolute danger of freezing temps,,, we won't even do it in ga/sc,,, unless yours is much different than most others, if its outside when it rains, it'll get wet,,, if it snows, it'll turn white, too.

others may differ but that's my story & i'm stickin' to it.
