one for the books,

Here's one for the books,
My first tiling job! layed the subfloor, layed the cement board we will not go in to those issues. Anyway i measured the distance from the doorway subtracted the space for the grout drew out a straight starting point from the wall and proceeded to lay tiles all was going well (keeping the tiles straight and level ) then Get to the doorway and "why am i going to have to cut tiles when i measured for a whole tile finish" Doh, the 12x12 are not 12x12 why is it that things are labled something then in small print "oh by the way tiles are 11 3/4" i cannot tell you how many times i have been caught by this and i still forget to check.. but hey my 4" tiles are 4" go figure.

one for the books,

I was getting ready to tile my back plash the other day. Making a varied pattern. So I went out and cut my entire tile pattern and decided to just lay them out to see how it was going to look. DOOE I forgot to make the adjustment and ended up cutting all over again. I hate it to! Oh well its all pert of the fun!
