Old Pine Hardwood Floors

I just had them sanded and stained. The floor stain looks more like paint. Will the stain continue to be absorbed so more of the grain will show? Sherwin Williams Classic Cherry.

No it won't.

Yellow pine is considered to be one of the "witchy" woods... very difficult to get good stain saturation because the wood is so sappy.

You didn't mention anything about the type of stain you used. A product name and manufacturer would be helpful.

Sherwin Williams Classic Cherry. I wonder if I should cover it with one of those new sort've wood products I've seen.
