Old linoleum removal hazardous?
Does anyone know if the gold vein/gold fleck patterned linoleum from the late 60's/early 70's contained asbestos? That was one of the first popular patterns (Congoleum, Armstrong, who made it?) when it only came in 6' widths... my house had it when I was a kid. I just tore out a 4X8 area, and wasn't wearing protective mask...didn't think of it, till I did a search online and found entries describing flooring as an asbestos-containing product.

It might have, you will be fine. Nothing you can do now anyway.

Yes. Sheet flooring from that era could contain asbestos. So could the mastic it was glued down with. The only way to know for certain is to test it. One thing about flooring is that the asbestos is encased in a pretty heavy matrix of other materials and doesn't become airborne very easily and does not remain airborne for an extended period of time. I would say that even if it did contain the big A, your exposure was pretty minimal.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Did it have a white or grey cardboard like backing? If so, it likely was asbestos, and does release fibres when removed. One simple check is to take a bit of the backing & try to light it with a match or lighter.. if it doesn't burn, it probably is asbestos.
There's also tiles that have the asbestos in the plastic body of the tile, they are the same material right through. You'll get little or no fibres released when removing these.
