Old floors, need ideas

We've got the original wood floor on our 1890s home. It's definitely been neglected. What would you do with a floor that looks like this?

There is no subfloor and you can see into the crawlspace when looking through some of the cracks. There are soft spots here and there and I'll be slowly jacking up the floor to level in spots in the future.

I'm tempted to do what the previous owners did to another room and just put new flooring right on top. But I sort of want to save the floors if I can! I just don't know how feasible it is.

Thanks for the ideas!

You will want to look in an architectural salvage yard for some replacement boards---then patch--sand and refinish--

Thanks Mike.

I guess I should just take a crowbar at the planks that are in the worst condition and then fit in new planks? Being that they are tongue and groove how would you go about putting those back in? Would you replace with rabbets so that I could just slide it on top?
