OLd floor/new floor

Im renovating a kitchen area...I took awall down between the Kitchen and the dining area are to make the kitchen bigger. The dining area has what I thought was red oak flooring but turned out to be a mixture of Red Oak and white oak. The new floor I put down was red oak..After sanding both floors, you can see a drastic difference between the two. Last option is to rip up old floor and lay new red oak to match. What can I do to salvage this project.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Tonyd, I have had really good luck with my local flooring store. Why I say this is that you may go down and talk to them and tell them your problem. If not for free. With maybe a 50 in the right hand their installer will come and look at it and give you some direction. DIY advise is great but a little money and a professional eye goes a long way too.
