Question

Noise Reduction of Original HardWood Floors

I recently discovered I have nice wooden floors under my carpet. They do look like they need a new finish, it is loosing its shine. My question is about all the creeks and noises it makes while walking on the floor. I would like to preserve my wood floors. What shall I do to get rid of the noise?

I have heard of walk test finding where it is coming from. Screwing it from underneath or on top with break away screws. Applying talkum & baby powder it will seep into the pours.

I have searched through 13 pages, of threads and still havent found anything on this. I hope this is not a repeat.

They make a tool for this where you put in screws and the head of the screw snaps off below the surface of the wood. I don't know what its called, but if you search google you may find it.

All of those are great ideas and are common ones for this type of situation.
