no subfloor- squeaky wood

I have a 3/4" T&G pine floor directly on the joists (no subfloor). Can't replace it since the boards go under the walls.
I'm thinking of laying another wood floor on top. I'm a big guy and tired of feeling like I'm tip-toeing around.
What is the minimum thickness of underlayment to strengthen/ remove squeaks?
I'm thinking 1/2" ply glued and screwed, but also don't really want to raise the floor more than than necessary.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Any alternative to plywood to beef up my subfloor?
Can wood floors be mounted over ditra? or something similar?
