newly done polyurethaned floors


i had to resand and stain 8 boards of my new hardwood floor because they were really blotchy. whoa-it looks darker than the original and has 2 coats of fabulon urethane on. will it lighten at all? WHAT IF ANYTHING CAN I DO NOW?

I am sorry but I don't think the floor will lighten and the only way to change the look is to sand off the polyurethane and restain the floor. Getting a perfect match is difficult but not impossible.

Ya unfortunately I don't think it will lighten. The only choices are really to live with it or refinish the floors in the room. Trying to again sand the 8 boards, re stain etc would probably make it stick out even worse.
