Some time soon i will be laying a quartersawn oak floor directly on top of radiant tubing.
Heres the set up.
3/4 T&G sub-floor (plywood not OSB)
On top of that...
3/4 OSB strips cut to 8" widths
1/2 pex and a sheet of aluminum sandwiched between the 8" strips
On top of that...
3/4 oak floor
Should i use felt ?
If i dont what will happen ?
Looking for long term answer.
I read in more then one place red-rosin paper is not effective no matter what.
Reason im asking is, will the felt block the head and will the felt start to smell because of the pex and heat.
Thanks for any guidance.
