I assume they were just going to float your new floor over the cork underlayment.

Love to know what final solution you may discover

Yeah, floating under cork. Not what I wanted to get done.

New Engineered Hardwood Bowing?

UPDATE:

After doing some more research and a RH % test of the concrete slab, came back at 85 to 87% RH. High from what I understand. Found a heavy duty product much better than a 6mil poly called VersaShield.

I am going to have a company lay the VersaShield, tape it, then lay a 1/8th cork underlayment and tape it then lay the Mirage Lock. The perm rating for VersaShield is 0.09 which is really low and should solve my moisture issue. The cork will act as a pad and allow the ground to breathe underneath the wood. Seems like my best option. I did not want ANOTHER moisture barrier below the wood which could cause mold.

777....Thank Ya for the update...

I guess just a real good perm shield, is your only option over that moist a slab....

I guess you don't have to worry about moisture collection between the slab and Versa shield.... I don't know...just learning...

Good going.... Guess it would be fun to have a floor again

Best

Peter
