New Carpet Dilemma
i had my living room and 2 bedrooms installed with new carpet. the brand of the carpet is called "bliss" and it's in a light gray color (posey). frankly, the carpet shows every single footprint and track and the color isn't consistently gray. i think it looks really bad.
bliss offers a “You’ll love it or we’ll take it back” Guarantee and i'm tempted to ask them to take it back. what would you do? i really want a uniform, modern, grayish tone color carpet. |
If they were bold enough to make that claim--take them up on it--
You will loose the cost of the installation labor but if you hate it that might be worth the expense. |
Carpet will do that when you vacuum and/or walk on it. It is just the nature of the beast when it catches the light, when the piles shift. If you are not satisfied with the appearance, by all means contact the company you purchased it from and tell them that you are not satisfied with how it looks after it was installed.
It is really hard to get a good idea on carpeting, when you just have a 2x2 sample to set down and look at. |

i know certain carpets don't show footprints or tracks at all. the one i have is very plush, but shows everything. |
All plushes show footprints. You should have bought a sculptured or a berber.

I really would not worry about it, except that deep plush carpets tend to hold more dirt, and in turn you have to have them cleaned more often by Chemdry, etc.

Medium grade olefin plush. Just above builder's grade. Not as durable as nylon. Tends to mat. Won't stain. |
this is the carpet i have installed.
http://www.blissflooring.com/bliss/c...nBac-1200.aspx it just looks like a blotchy white/gray mess. i'm kind of annoyed with the static electricity from walking on it. |
If you want a carpet that will retain it's looks, stay away from polyester. Buy nylon yarn.
