New Carpet

Well, my brother-in-law's dog chewed through the carpet in the guest room over the holidays . It was relatively low-quality carpet, but looked half way decent. We had aspirations of replacing it when we got the money but it wasnt a priority. Well, I suppose now it is.

What can we expect to pay, per square yard, for new, competitive quality, carpet and padding installed?

New Carpet

When you say "we", you really mean "he", right? As in what can he expect to pay? The money he saved on not having to get a hotel room for a few days should cover it.

New Carpet

If it's just a small area you could cut some carpet out of a closet and do a repair. Done right, it will be virtually invisible.

Usually a few bucks a square foot installed is a good starting point depending on prices for your area.

Figure 5 a square foot for alot of choices.
