Bought a new house. Pulled the old carpet, padding and old doors/frames. Carpet installer is coming in a few days.
The original install, probably by the old homeowner, had tack strip poorly wrapped around the door frames. What is the proper way to install tack strip in a doorway?
Also, what are some other things I can do to prepare for the installation before the installer arrives. They charge for every little detail. I am trying to get away with paying for basic install with some custom stair work.
Note... I am painting now but due to time constraints, I am installing pre-hung doors and trim after carpet. I will need to allow space for door frames with the tack strip in the door way.
