Need help choosing a floor

We are looking for a prefinished red oak solid 3 1/4 floor that doesn't show every little smudge and puppy print. We don't want the "smooth-as-glass" finishes some prefinished products have because they do show everything. Instead we'd love a floor with some visible grain texture to hide prints. We don't want hand scraped or anything that looks too old. We also like some variations in color among the boards, but no knots, black marks or checks. Select-and-better sometimes seems too uniform but the next grade down (whatever the manufacturer decides to call it) is sometimes too rustic looking for us. I know our preferences vary among the brands so I'm hoping someone can recommend a brand to us. We would prefer a brand that has great ratings and don't mind paying more to get a high quality floor. We would love to see photos of recommended floors. Thanks!
