Need help!

My girlfriend and I recently moved into an old 70's house in old Florida. The wooden floors are completely warped and caving in. I feel that it's dangerous and looks awful. The only problem or solution I can see happening is replacing every single piece of wood. It's the only thing between our furniture and the dirt. Any other solutions? We're only renting so I not looking to spend mega bucks on this but we got a handyman special and painting over the wood just doesn't appeal to me.

Many solutions, but what is the real problem?
You make it sound as if the floor is going to fall in. Is it the flooring on top of the subfloor or is it the actual sub floor that is failing?

So now you have a no way to fix it without the owners permission and most likly on your dime.

Yes we fell in love wit it. Abd since its a handyman special we have to pay for everything but our rent is 400$ cheaper than usual. So i dont mind fixing it. We dont need permission. The only thing is if we have plumbing or electrical issues our landlorf pays for it.

Well to start my suggestion would be to try and take up some to floor and see what is happening under it. Or maybe better crawl under the house and try to see what is going on with the sub and joists. It's kinda hard to give a solution till we find out the problem and what is causing it.

First thing I would check would be the floor joist,if they are in good condition I would tear out the old floor and start with ply and go from there. If the joists are rotton that's more money than I would spend on a rental.
