moisture barrier?

I was in Lowes last week with my wife and she was trying to show me some floor underlayment, or moisture barrier. I didn't pay much attention (so now I'm in hot water ) but if I recall it came in a roll and had almost an egg carton look to it. Apparently it's good for laying on concrete floors where either carpet or laminate will be the chosen flooring. Does anyone know of this (I am gonna call Lowes to get the name) or if it's worth looking into?

Open to any helpful info.
Thanks.

moisture barrier?

I saw somthing similar to what you described in HD, they are orange in color, those are used for laying tiles though....kind of a new invention to replace traditional cement board...

for carpet and laminate, the only water barrier I heard of is Dricore which is extremely expensive.... I used somthing similar in one third of the cost which is egg carton type plastic (for external fundation water proofing) + OSB boards... this is kind of an advice from "don't know" who someone which got passed on to me... I didn't see anywhere else talk about this technique officially...
