Mirage Floating Floor

Has anyone installed Mirage's new "Lock" floor?

Does the underfloor need to be perfectly level?

Does the lock hold even with heavy file cabinets?

I haven't installed it, but I can offer two bits of advice.

In general, with any type of flooring, the subfloor should be clean, dry, flat, and sound.

Floors expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity; that's why they need an expansion gap.

If you take a floating floor and put some screws into it, fixing some planks in one spot, when the floor needs to expand or contract, it can only do so up to the planks that can't move.

Putting heavy furniture on a floating floor is the same as screwing down the floor where the item sits.

Sometimes a gap between planks will appear in floors in front of heavy pieces of furniture that pin parts of the floor down.
