Metal strip between carpet and tile

There is a piece of metal (aluminum?) covering "border" between the carpet in my master bedroom and the tile in the bathroom. It was held down using 4 nails but recently it seems to be coming off. 2 of the nails popped out when the vacuum cleaner hit it as I was cleaning the bedroom.

These nails have a history of popping up and previously I've just hammered them down again. I want to check here and see if there's a better way to ensure that they stay down this time?

Perhaps use long screws instead? Thanks.

Sure just use brass screws, and that should solve your problem.
