Is this material under my tile anything to worry about?

I'm pulling out some kitchen tiles and see that underneath the mortar, there is a concrete / pebble type of material with a mesh in the middle.

I want to make sure there isn't any chance of this stuff containing asbestos or something. The house was built in 1950, but this tile isn't from that era, although whatever is on top of the subfloor might be.

I'm guessing this might have been the method used to level the sub floor or something.
