Looking for vinyl tile that looks like wood strips
Hi folks,
I'm looking for vinyl tile flooring that will match or at least compliment the existing real wood flooring in my house, which was built about 80 years ago. I have no problems matching the color/tone/grain etc., but I cannot find anything that looks like it's made of narrow (about 2") strips. There are lots of options for wide planks, but these wouldn't look right next to my hallway. The 6" x 36" planks that try to simulate 2 or 3 narrow strips doesn't look great to my eye because if that ugly butt joint every three feet. Can anyone point me to a 2" x 4-8' peel & stick vinyl tile? Thanks! DennisW |

All I could find on the market was the 36x6 Konecto planks as well. It came out great though. You might be able to find a snap in laminate, but the 1/8''+ thickness may cause a problem with coming up flush with your existing floors. Let us know what you find.

Amtico comes to mind. But that is a glue-down product. I think anything you want in that size would have to be glue down.

Try looking into KARNDEAN.com. I was just looking at a product like you are describing recently in a flooring store; don't know how good the web site is, I saw the stuff in the showroom. It is glue down, not peel and stick. Pretty interesting stuff, they even sell small narrow strips that you can use to create a boarder or between each board if you like.

Couldn't find thin strips but see if any of this will work?

Roppe makes one that looks pretty nice (have fan deck on my desk right now.) It is called Wood Naturals.
http://www.roppe.com/products/woodnaturals/index.html not sure how it stacks up in terms of cost though. |
Wow, thanks for all the responses! I have some reading a researching to do.
I'm not against glueing the tiles, by the way. Especially since I've not heard a lot of great reviews about peel and stick. Cheers, DennisW |
