Looking for vinyl tile that has been discountinued.
I am hoping that there is someone that can help me. I purchased some self adhesive vinyl floor tiles this summer and they were on sale. The reason for the sale I was told was because the manufacture was changing the box. This seemed reasonable as I know this happens all of the time. So I recently got started on the project to find out that I need another box at least. Well I went back to the store and of course they no longer have my tile. I have looked all over town and even spent the last 2 hours on the internet with no luck. I am wondering if there is anyone that can help me or have any ideas where I can find more. I have even called the manufacture direct.
I am looking for 80 mill. Armstrong #21302. The pattern has a large diamond in the center of it with small squares all around it. Now Armstrong has one exactly like this style still, only it is blue. I need the green. The green background is more cream with gold and the blue is white with gray.
If there is anyone that can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much
You don't say where you are, is this an Armstrong product or just they have one that looks like it. If so a better bet would be to contact distributers of Armstrong in your area they may still have some sitting in a warehouse or one of their sales reps may have a small retailer that still has some in stock. Years ago Armstrong put out a monthly news letter that had an "I'm Looking For" section I've been out of retail for awhile so don't know if they still do and don't know how many small retailers even bothered to read that section to dump old dropped patterns.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but google up Armstrong distributers and make some phone calls but by the time your done it may be cheaper to go buy the proper sq footage. I always figure extra sq ft for the unexpected and that's over and above normal wastage.
Like Zero said, start looking and you should be able to find a box somewhere. Expect to pay a premium for it because they know that they have you.
I usually allow 10% extra for a job unless it's diagonal, then go 20%. 15% isn't unreasonable on a 'sale' job just for the reasons that you have mentioned, finding that last box.
