Longleaf pine flooring

I have longleaf pine flooring underneath 2layers of linoleum. The linoleum is not useable. The pine floor is the only layer. Nothing underneath and this is a pier and beam. Is it okay to use the pine floors as my floir or should it be covered. Can i finish the floor after cleaning off old linoleum
Thanks

Longleaf pine flooring

When we purchased our home in Oklahoma it had gorgeous orange shag carpeting (NOT) over pine boards. We tore out the carpeting and finished the floors. Two things to consider if you do this. First pine is soft. We have four large dogs and it is a good thing that the home was rather, well.... rustic, because by the time we sold three years later dog nails had done a number on the floor.
Second, where do you live? Insulation issues may be a concern.

The house will be in east texas. Not really worried about insulation as much as bugs. I am thinking i could stain and seal well and be ok

Just keep in mind a lighter stain (or one closest to the original wood) will show dings less than a dark stain.
