linolium over basement slab

I finished carpeting the "living" side of the basement- There is a small area about 10'x8' where the laundry/water heater is (unfinished side)- I wanted to just put some sheet linolium there to provide a little better surface than the concrete floor- is there anything I should put down prior to laying the sheet flooring? (something to prevent mousture maybe?)- I have a dehumidifer that runs all the time down there but I did not want to give mold a chance to grow under anything. Wasn't sure if there is anything to put down to prevent or help prevent any issues

If the conditions are proper, it goes right on the slab.

But, why are you running the dehumidifier all the time? You're not supposed to do that. Do you have a moisture problem, mildew musty smell?
