Linoleum on concrete expansion gap question

I am putting down one piece linoleum on a 5'x8' basement bathroom. The concrete is nice and smooth but there is a 1/4 or so expansion gap cut into the concrete running the width. Does this need to be filled in? If so, what is a good technique for this?
