leveling cement before tile


has anyone ever used a product called compat made by hartline products co., inc. to level a floor to prepare for tile. it comes in a five gallon pail with 50lb of cement and 1 gallon of gauging liquid. it is used like art x.

Never used that particular one. We usually use Parabond PFU. Laticrete 86 is very good as well. Recently we've used a fiberglass modified one from Drytec, 7600 I believe. It doesn't level nearly as well though.

Mapei's Novoplane 2 is the best with a high BTU rating and a 4200 PSI

OK Hugh now you are fixin' to teach me something.

What is a "high BTU Rating" as it refers to Mapei's Novaplan? I'm not sure what that means, never heard of it before.
