You will need a power stretcher, kicker, seaming iron, carpet knives, row runner, straight edge, carpet tractor, trimmer, hammer, strip cutters.
Probably could buy them all used for $1000 to $1500.
Learning how to cut and makes seams on line is not likely. Most carpet helpers have to wait 6 months or more to make their first seams.
The rest of the installations steps are possible to learn on line, but there are many different backings and all take slightly different installation techniques.
Some take extremely different techniques.
Learning to cut seams, put on the sealer and make seams can take a lot of practice.
Not to say that you couldn't get by with it, I run into a lot of "pro" installers that don't have a clue.
