laying self adhesive lino squares
Hi, I am after some advice on how to cut a lino square/tile to fit around door frames (fancy styling). I have tried a couple of times and wasted a couple of lino tiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Mark
Go to your favorite supplier or big box and get thyself a "jamb saw" (maybe $15 if you want the best they'll probably have)and cut around until you get rid of all the fancy design (only the main door jamb remaining, straight and square). Lay the saw on one (or 2 wouldn't hurt, no thicker than they are) of your tiles to get the thickness you need to have room to slide the tile under. I wish I could have found a better picture...the handle is offset from the blade. Looks like this...kinda.
Well I tried. Anyway..lol, ask for a jamb saw and they should set you up.
On a side note: If this is a bathroom, don't expect these to last long unless your gluing them down (aside from the factory glue). In my experience, as soon as the factory glue gets wet (drips from a shower, etc.), its done.
Thank you so much for your advice. It worked really well. Plus I made sure i used another adhesive for the bathroom.
