Laying Hardwood

I have 700 sq. feet of nail-down bamboo to install. It will run from a hallway into 3 bedrooms, and a living room. I am trying to figure out where to start! The hallway is central. I don't want any thresholds between the different rooms/hallway. Advice?

i would do the hallway first and build off of it into the adjoining rooms.
Snap a chalkline down the hallway to startt he first course, making sure your hallway is laid nice and straight.

You build into the room with the tongue side of the flooring. for the rooms on the opposite side of the hallway ruip a spline and join your first course of flooring into those rooms groove to groove joined with the spline you created.
Make sense?

Yeah, that's great! What do I make the spline out of? Thanks for the reply!

I bought my spline from a local flooring store. It wasn't very expensive and it was easier than making it myself. You may want to take a piece of the flooring with you to make sure the spline fits the groove.

Good luck.

I would also do it the way the second poster stated. remove the bedroom doors from there hinge pins. measure off the hallway wall and snap a line down the hallway and into the bedroom if need to. this way when your looking down the hall your eye See's one straight line. Good luck BOB
