Laundry floor

We have a laundry room in our cellar, which at this time has cement floors with a thin outdoor/indoor carpet (not the fake grass type) on it.
My neighbor was getting rid of some laminate flooring her son had in his apartment, so I got some to do our laundry room. With the floor being cement, do I have to put anything between the floor and laminate, after I remove the carpet.
thanks

I would not suggest putting laminate in a laundry room, (essecially in a cellar). Threr would be to high of moisture content. It will not hold up. It's not worth it even if it's free.

It's also so slippery the washers going to move when it spins out.

Ditto, the other 2 answers.

How about if I leave some of that carpet, in btween the washer, dryer and laminate to stop the movement

Still would be slippery, still no vaper barrier, still will delaminate the first time it gets mois or a back up.

I just did my laundry room floors in my basement with an epoxy and I think it was a good option. It looks nice and clean, is easy to clean, & moisture can not really effect it. Plus it cost me $60 and about 2 hours of work. So maybe consider this.
