Laminate wood in entryway

I have installed laminate wood flooring in the upstairs of our split level home and I am wondering which direction to lay it in the entryway at the bottom of the stairs, any ideas would help

The general rule of thumb on plank flooring is to run it perpendicular to the way your floor joists are running.

I always lay the planks with the length of the area. If your sub floor is 3/4 tongue and groove plywood the joist direction really doesn't matter.
