Laminate plank installation with minimum waste

I am in the process of laying Pergo flooring. I seem to be wasting a lot. I have tried using the cut piece to start the next row as suggested but then I com up about 2-3 inches short on the other end. Any suggestions

Cut the piece at the start so you have a larger piece to end with.

Didn't you figure on about 10% waste factor when you bought?

Make shore you stagger your seams 12" apart.
You bought what you measured you won't have much waist at the end.

Take a measurement of the length of a run.
Take the measurement of each piece.
Calculate to stagger joints at least 12" (or whatever is recommended by manufacturer).
Should be able to use cut piece to start next row.
