Laminate Over Parquet

I'm helping a family member put laminate flooring in their foyer. Currently there is 20-year-old parquet over top of cement slab. What is the best/quickest/cheapest option. I'm hoping to not have to pull up the parquet if at all possible. Any thoughts on putting foam underlayment down before putting down the laminate? Any increase in the "height" of the floor can be resolved by using reducer thresholds. What do you all think?

Just follow the manufactures instructions.
Some brands already have a built in underlayment.

Thanks... I think the bigger question is: do you think going right over the parquet is a good idea or should I pry all of that old stuff up, first?
