Laminate Lines Not Straight...

Just had the 3.25" wide 8mm laminate flooring (with micro groove edges) installed in a room 20 x 25 feet wide. In the center of the room the lines between the boards looks curved. Sure enough, put a line on it and it is out about 3/8" in 20 feet. Is this an installation problem or can it be expected that this flooring could be "curved" in a large room? Looking for advice. Several visitors have already pointed this out...which doesn't really make us too happy...cause this stuff was more than half the price of real hardwood. Thanks!!

I am guessing that it is nail down flooring. If it is, it is an installation problem. I have never seen click together flooring curve. Did you install or did you have someone else do it?

Dave.

Is it laminate or engineered flooring????

It's "Tarkett Occasions" laminate with the good black underpad...not nailed....and was installed by a flooring contractor.

One pic shows the end view...kindof hard to see curve in the pic. The top view pic with the string has the string held on the line at the 16 foot wide end of the room (at stairway opening). The string is on the groove between the boards at each and...and as the pic shows, the curve is about 1/4" off at its worst in this 16 foot run.

That is odd.
If it was bad milling, then the 2 pieces would have to be curved for it to work.
Is it bowing up at all or just to the left or right?

I am not sure how laminate can curve left or right.

not bowing up...just curving along the length of the room...the whole floor is like this
