laminate flooring transition ?
 
I will be installing a laminate floor purchased from lumber liq it is the dream home nirvana 8mm with 3mm pad it will be installed in 3 bedrooms and a hallway my question in when i reach the doorways is it a must to use their t molding or transitions or can i just keep clicking the pieces together .Also were would the proper place to start the job be if the rooms run off both sides of the hallway . thanks

I actually started in the hallways and did not use the transitions. It looks better IMO. Keep in mind that you will have to rip some pieces lengthwise, along some walls.

Its a neater job if you just continue the flooring through the doorways, provided the board orientation suits the room. Be sure to undercut the door jambs and casing to allow the floor to fit under them.

They tell you to use the transitions. Can you skip them, maybe? They want you to use them so the floating floor can expand and contract. So it may buckle without them. With LL poducts, I would do everything I could to avoid further problems.

i have a tongue and groove pine subfloor the boards are 3" or just under 3" what would be the best way to level or flatten this floor.
