Laminate Flooring - Some uneveness?

Hi All,

We’re doing a bedroom/bath addition on our home and we’re almost done.

We’ve decided to do wood laminate in the bedroom. The one we’re looking at is the Lock 'n Seal Premium from Sam’s Club and already includes the padding underneath. Would I still need to use a moisture barrier of plastic? If so, which kind?

Also, this is going on a concrete slab. When the slab was first poured back in December, it was exposed to some rain a few days after the initial pour. Because of this, there are some areas that are uneven. I plan on pouring some ‘self-levelling’ compound in this area to fill it in.

There are also a few large areas where it is a bit bumpy. Almost like tiny little pebbles sticking out. Will the padding take care of these small imperfections?

Thanks!

see if you can sand down some of the pebbles.
Use the self lever to fix the low spots.

Yes, you need a moisture barrier.
Do not forget that the self leveler needs "water" so that needs to dissapate before install.
Calcium cloride test recommended.
