laminate flooring over laminate flooring

Can I put laminate floating floor over the current laminate floor that I'd there? The current flooring goes under the kitchen cabinets. It is 16 years old and glued together. It is in good shape but we want a change. This is in a modular home and I thought the extra thickness helps the floor and sound. Because it is glued together I would have to cut it up in sections to get it out. Any thoughts good or bad? Thanks

Are you sure it's not linolium instead of laminite flooring?
Reason I ask is I'm not sure laminites even been around that long, it's almost never glued unless it's installed over a slab, and it's never suppost to be installed under cabinets.

It is Laminate ,Mills Pride when it first came out, I bought it a Home Depot in Grand Rapids when we first bought the house, I put it down and glued it together, It was a real pain. It is above grade no moisture issues. I could screw it down but I am leaning towards pulling it up. Thanks
