Laminate flooring to concrete
Here is the problem I am having.... My wife seen some pictures in home interior magazine and it showed where theses people put down ceramic tile boxed by laminate flooring. It is basically four 13X13 ceramic tile in a square outlined by 4" laminate flooring around the outside of the square and you keep this pattern going throughout the entire area of coverage. My problem is I live on a concrete slab and the only way I can figure to attach the laminate flooring between the tiles is to use a construction adhesive. My question to all of you is 1) is this a smart idea with the way wood expands and contracts with weather change and 2) what is the best type of adhesive to use for this application? The last thing I want to happen after all the hard work of putting it down is for the wood to pop up every time the temp wants to change (which happens allot in Alabama.)
Please help as my bare kitchen floor needs to be covered. Thank you in advance for any help.

This will work fine people do it all the time. If you use the right product you will have no problems... You hafta use engineered flooring on a concrete floor for starters, and PL glues are the best adhesives on the market and will work fine for your application. You should probably use an 1/8 inch gap between your wood and tile and get some sanded color match caulk from you tile supplier.
