Laminate flooring around bannisters

We recently installed laminate flooring ("floating flooring") throughout our house and love it. However, we can't figure out how to finish the area around bannisters. We have bannisters throughout our house, surrounding stairwells and have left the laminate butting up against the bannisters, leaving the space between the bannisters and the inch on the other side of the bannisters exposed.

Any ideas on how to finish this? We think we may be looking at different combinations of trims...

Thanks!

Completely depends on the situation.
Is it possible to post pics?
There are many variables, and that would help.

If I understand your situation (which again pictures would help) quarter round is probably going to be your solution.

Had you posted before doing the job I would have said to get a flush cut saw and undercut the bannister so that the laminate would slide underneath it.

Laminate flooring around bannisters

Thank you for your replies. I will post pictures this weekend.

We realize that it would have been much easier to have cut the bannisters off and slid the laminate underneath...we're kicking ourselves now, because it was an option on the table, but money and time constraints didn't allow for the tools we would have needed.

Again, thanks so much for your responses! I look forward to see if anyone has any suggestions once our pictures are posted.
