Laminate Flooring

I'm going to install laminate flooring in much of my house. I've never done this before, so I have some 'dumb' questions.

First one: Is it usual to put a transom in each doorway leading from room to room, as was done in older homes, or would you just run the flooring continuously through the house?

Thanks...

Gary

Laminate Flooring

When laminate first came out it was common practice to put a transition in any doorway that was less than three feet wide. With the new core being more stable it is no longer necessary.

Laminate Flooring

Just for future reference:
Transom: a bar of wood or stone across the top of a door or window, also a fixed window over a door or another window.
Threshold:
1. A piece of wood or stone placed beneath a door; a doorsill.
2. An entrance or a doorway.
Transition: To change from one thing to another (one kind of flooring, or level of flooring)
Look at:

Very good explanations of different situations with new floors, moldings, and transitions.
