Laminate floor, padding

We have a laminate floor.
It got subjected to water - solved the water problem.
Is it advisable to try and reuse the old, padding? (plastic/foam)
It's going to be a new floor.
Thanks!

And risk distroying a brand new floor to just try and save a few pennys?
Think about it.
Was it at least removed to let the subfloor dry out?

Thanks for the response!
The padding was cleaned -
The sub-floor was cleaned (very, well - concrete)
We're going to have to use a LOT, of tape - to reuse the padding!
I say - new padding.
The homeowner wants to reuse the old padding.
(Penny wise and dollar foolish???)
It's just one room.

I'd refuse to do the job if that's the way they wanted to do it.
There was also suppost to be a vaper barrier under that padding if it's on a slab. I'd bet they also suggested gluing the joints.
You can clean that padding all you want to but once it's stepped on water may squrt it.

"joecaption"

Thanks for the input!
Sometimes people want to get a second opinion.
Now, they've got one!
They're friends - they usually take what I have to say into consideration.
Good to have "backup"!
Thanks again!
I'm going to show them this.
(I don't want to reuse the old, padding!!!!) :)

Go on line and look up the install instrutions on that brand flooring and print it out. Look it over, if there not willing to do it the way the manufacture saws to do it pass on the job, trust me it will come back to bite you on the butt if it fails. Been there done that. They forget real quick it was there idea.
I have a motto, I want people that see my work ask "who did that for you" not "who did that to you".
