We bought the Konecto tile floor to put in the basement because we didn't want to have glue down on the concrete. We followed the instructions to the letter. The whole floor is lifting. Does anyone have any suggestions
To start with, I think it's a waste to spend your good money on that type of product, and that goes 2x for a basement.
The basement may be too damp. Did you do any type of moisture test first? The floor may not be perfectly flat. May have been installed too tight to the wall or trim. What is the temp of the concrete? The instructions specifically tells you not to install if the "environment" is ever below 65 or warmer than 85 degrees. That a ridiculous stipulation.
It would be helpful if you had included more info such as where you're located.
Did you leave enough room for expansion at the edges?
I don't know anything about that product--but if it can expand like most flooring--and bumps into the wall when it does---the flooring will 'balloon' off of the floor.
Konecto has a really bad track record. Installation must be perfect and it still tends to have issues with peaking at the seams. You need a perfectly flat floor, no excess moisture, proper expansion gap, you must hand roll each seam as it's installed, you must full roll the entire floor after installation, and make damn sure you don't get even one spec of dust on the adhesive strip during installation.
