Konecto problems?

We put Konecto in our bathroom and our basement. The bathroom looks great the basement is another story. The seams keep lifting especially along the edges and it looks terrible. The center part of the floor is lifting in sopts but not like the edges. For the amount of time and money spent I would like to figure out how to fix it.

Konecto problems?

I live in mid california. I saw Konecto and it fits well with my wood flooring as I need to replace my vinyl laundry room flooring located off of the kitchen. It is a rather large laundry room, 16'x10'. After reading about the trouble folks have had with Konecto I was very concerned. Then I read what you said and now feel somewhat better. My husband and I plan to install it ourselves. We have done lots of home fix it jobs and did three homes ourselves. We are not fearful of the job just want to have a great long life product. It seems it must be a warm underfloor and a must is a roller. Another concern I have is I have open shelving about 5 feet by 2 feet that the Konecto will be installed under and we will not be able to get a roller under the lowest shelf...what do you think?

Konecto problems?

i am not a professional - i am a homeowner who has had trouble with professionally installed Konecto plank. in my personal opinion rolling is of utmost importance. if your bookcase is not removable for installation how will you get the flooring under it ? i watched the installer - the planks were butted end to end with the one being installed needing space above it to be laid down along the edge of the one next to it - he kind of rolled the plank down - did not just lay it next to the other one - and pressed down - i cannot visualize how you can do this with a shelf only inches above the floor. IF you can do that then maybe the smaller hand roller can get under the shelf ?? Personally i am glad i had it professionally installed because there was no chance they could blame the problem on me.

Konecto problems?

That close to the wall it should not be a problem just hand press it in or use the hand roller.
I have started selling hand rollers with every purchase to help people solve the rolling issues. It is small enough it will fit under the shelf area.

Konecto problems?

my on going problem with getting the floor fixed has been accomplished. the woodstove & hearth pad were removed & we noted one area of Konecto was actually warped from the heat. there was a flaw in the hearthpad - it was cracked. at any rate - SeaPac installer laid the new areas of planks that had (therefore) separated and we left the area under where the hearthpad and stove would go with just the old wood floor & a hardboard the shape of the hearth pad but a tad smaller.....hearth pad was then laid down & the edges cover the planks edges. we will no longer have the weight issue or the apparent heat issue. hopefully all is well. we'll know when heating season begins. thanks for your help ~
